A people’s culture speaks to the social fabric and identity of its peoples hence the need for culture to be preserved, promoted and passed down through generations to ensure longevity.

This department’s main functions include:

1. a) Promotion and development of all aspects of performing arts, music acrobatics dances,

traditional games through capacity building

1. b) Promotion of languages and traditional practices harmonious with national development

aspirations

1. c) Promotion and development of visual arts/literary artist and their creative works through

capacity building exhibitions, culture exchange programs and other promotion strategies

1. d) Promotion and development of traditional medicine, indigenous foods preservation and

conservation of environment in line with national development aspirations

1. e) Promotion of culture education documentation and dissemination of cultural information and research findings
